International School Thika
R290 All in One Heat Pump
Survey, Supply, Installation, and Commissioning of a Heat Pump at International School Thika
This project involves the complete delivery and setup of a heat pump system to provide efficient and reliable hot water or heating at an international school in Thika. The process is carried out in four key phases:
1. Site Survey
The initial stage involves a detailed assessment of the school’s facilities to determine the most suitable heat pump solution.
Key activities include: Evaluating hot water or heating demand (e.g., dormitories, kitchens, bathrooms)
Inspecting available installation space and existing plumbing/electrical systems Assessing environmental conditions (temperature, ventilation, and location suitability)
Recommending the appropriate heat pump capacity and system design
Outcome: A tailored solution that meets the school’s needs efficiently.
2. Supply of Equipment Based on the survey, the required heat pump system and accessories are sourced and delivered.
Includes:
Heat pump unit(s) Water storage tanks (if required) Circulation pumps and piping materials Control systems and electrical components Outcome: Delivery of high-quality, energy-efficient equipment ready for installation.
3. Installation This phase involves the physical setup and integration of the heat pump system into the school’s infrastructure.
Key tasks: Mounting and positioning the heat pump unit Connecting to water supply and distribution systems Electrical wiring and control system setup Insulation and safety measures implementation
Outcome: A fully installed system aligned with engineering standards and safety requirements.
4. Commissioning Commissioning ensures the system is tested, optimized, and ready for operation.
Includes: System testing and performance checks Calibration of temperature and pressure settings Leak detection and safety verification Training staff on operation and basic maintenance Outcome: A fully functional, efficient, and reliable heat pump system.
Benefits to the School Energy-efficient and cost-effective water heating Environmentally friendly solution Reliable hot water supply for daily operations Reduced operational and maintenance costs over time In summary: This project ensures a complete, end-to-end solution—from assessment to full operation—delivering a sustainable and efficient heating system tailored to the needs of the International School in Thika.
